Iceland

Waterfalls you can walk behind, black-sand beaches, a lagoon full of icebergs, and my first Atlantic Puffin.

Rough draft: the full story is still being written.

A loop through Iceland in late June, when the sun barely sets and the lupines are blooming along every road.

The South Coast

Seljalandsfoss, where you can walk all the way behind the falls, and then Skógafoss, 60 meters of falling water. Write about the first day: the drive, the mist, getting soaked.

Black sand and basalt

The columns and black sand at Reynisfjara, and the “Yoda” cave. What was the beach like? The waves there are famous for a reason.

Ice

The glacier tongues, then Jökulsárlón, a lagoon full of icebergs calving off the glacier. Tell about seeing it in the evening light.

Puffins and the north

An Atlantic Puffin on a cliff edge, then Goðafoss on the way north. Which moment from the trip do you remember most?
